The Mesmerizing Partnership

The Partners in Crime

Without a Shadow of a doubt my favourite combination at Arsenal. The deadly duo had an awesome partnership scoring goals and assisting each other. The deadly duo could easily unlock even the tightest of defences with their Run's and Vision for passes. Their ball control was the key.

The goal by Bergkamp against New Castle is testimony to my claim, On 3 March 2002, Arsenal took on Newcastle in a league encounter. With just 10 minutes on the clock, Robert Pires sent in a low pass from the left flank to Bergkamp standing on the edge of the opponent area with his back to goal. With an ingenious flick of the ball with the inside of his left foot, he dumbfounded defender Nikos Dabizas who was marking him tightly. He swiveled the other way, brushing the defender aside, and coolly slotting the ball past an onrushing Shay Given.

That very goal was the Premier league Goal of the Season and still remains as one of the best ever goals scored in the premier league.

Henry on Bergkamp -

"Dennis is the best player I have ever played with as a partner. It is always a dream for a striker to have him in the team with you."

Bergkamp on Henry -

"Henry is a player with exceptional vision and with his ruthless pace, he is virtually unbeatable. He is a great player and my best partner."

With the Arsenal Season stumbling yet again this season, I look forward to the next season. Hoping we can find a great combination with players who learn the art of partnership and win games for us. Either we get new players or get the existing one's in the right groove to start winning.

Come what may easily the two best players to have ever played for Arsenal FC, share the best partnership too. This will remain forever.

Thierry Henry - God at Arsenal FC

An uncertain and an unsettled Thierry Henry was brought to Highbury in 1999 by Arsene Wenger from Juventus for a fee of around 11 million pounds getting back to his mentor in Arsene Wenger. He was actaully a replacement for Nicolas Anelka (can you believe that ). He had a decent start to his football in england. He had already won the world cup with france and began finding his feet here in the EPL as well. Scoring goals at a rampant pace.

Thierry Henry

He was moulded into one of the most prolific strikers in the game. His style of playing the game would mean just taking the game onto the opposition with his absolute ruthless pace. He could just rip open any defence with his pace, ball control and amazing trickery. He was never shy of showing off his tricks that he has been practicing on the field during a match. He would have the audacity to try goals from absolutely no where in the pitch and he would not miss by much. He would normally run at defenders on the left flank and cut in and score with his curlers on the far post beating the keeper and also provide loads of assists.

Wenger once went on to even say that " Henry could take the ball in the middle of the park and score a goal that no one else in the world could score." Henry lived upto his billing by scoring many great goals.

The best part of Henry's career at Arsenal FC is his link up play with all the players he has played with from Dennis Bergkamp to Van Persie. He was a team player completely unselfish and awesomely creative, making opportunities for goals out of just nothing at all.

He had eight unforgettable years at Arsenal turning into a goal scoring machine and driving arsenal forward scoring just 226 goals for the club in all appearances becoming the highest goal scorer for the club and is the third highest goal scorer in EPL. He won loads of awards and trophies at Arsenal and even lead them to the Finals of the UEFA Champions League Finals in 2006 and won The FA Cup and the Community Shield and the Premier league while at Arsenal.

Though he moved on to play for Barcelona in Spain and now to play for the New York Red Bulls in the US, he still feels his heart beats for the Gunners, I'd say Henry my heart and the hearts of every Gunner always beats for you.

Whatever he did, no matter how he did, he just simply won the hearts of every single Gunner on this Planet with all the astonishing moments that he produced on the field, making every Gunner on this planet very proud. Easily one of the best players to have played in the premier league and for Arsenal FC.

Henry is my God at Arsenal FC.

Thierry Henry your presence is sorely missed.

Easily Painful

The last few weeks have been absolutely horrendous for any Arsenal FC fan. We have dropped points in a heap. We have  among the best youngsters playing for us in the premiership, but what we lack is the experience, sheer desperation and that crazy Gritty determination to see off a match. We also need players who are more eager to simply play mesmerizing football and take complete responsibility and perform according to the demands of the situation.

It was not long ago that we would get amazed watching an act of sheer brilliance from an ever goal poaching machines in  Thierry Henry and Ian Wright, the vision of a Dennis Bergkamp, the ever gritty and ever determined Patrick Viera or the curlers just around the corner of the post from the silky smooth Robert Pires and the strong wall like defenders in Keown and Adams to name a few.

The present bunch of players are undoubtedly brilliant but they aren't anywhere near as experienced as those players of yester years were at any point in time in their careers. Fully seasoned players playing for an Arsenal team would mean that Arsenal has every reason to believe that they can always shut off the opposition by simply blocking every attack of theirs.

For a team that is the only one in history to have gone an entire season without losing a single match and also to have lifted the Cup that season the last time they were Champions before Chelsea and Manchester United have gone on to dominte the top 2 positions in the league since then.

With so much potential to perform, this is one hell of a fall.  A stastistic that simply shows how poorly we have let in Goals that have simply hurt us bad. All this could have been started by the horrendous error by Laurent Koscielny and Wojciech Szczesny that lead to their loss against a Birmingham Side who played outta their skin to Arsenal at bay enforcing the error after which Martins made the most of it, depriving Arsenal of any Silverware, extending the dry spell to over 6 yrs now. Then the draw at Liverpool, New Castle

We do win a few matches here and there playing some brilliant football time and again. We played exhilarating football while beating Barca 2-1 at home and then beating ManUre 1-0 at home. Everything easily comes down to experience of the players, the ever attacking mesmerizing football played by the youngsters is a treat to watch, what we have to now wait and watch in the coming season is how well can these youngsters soak in the pressure and hold on to a lead..??

Many many crazy questions looom large....

Will Wenger accept there is a problem...change any of his tactics... offloading  or acquiring players.... experience or youth....

This season has been easily painful.....let's hope the future is shining brightly for us GUNNERS.

Why Arsenal

I am an ardent die hard Arsenal FC and have been so for the past 15 yrs of my life and will always continue to love Arsenal. Its not the trophies, its not the stardom, its just the mesmerizing, full flowing, ever attacking football that this team play without the so called experience. This relatively young inexperienced Aside simply amazes me weekend after weekend.
Wenger is one Manager who believes in playing the game in a beautiful way making it so pleasant and enjoyable to watch. He is the best manager in the world with the way he has handled his resources and always kept Arsenal in the top flight in EPL and in Europe. He barely has any money and resources to be in contention to pitch in for supa worldclass players who come at a high premium and so he does awesomely well to get in a whole bunch of eager youngsters who are just waiting for a chance and he finds talents season after season, creating supa stars than merely purchasing them.
A club that has had its best players injured on most occasions, especially the Strikers. A club that has had a very awful relationship and history with referees who give horrendous decisions against us very consistently. And the fact that inspite of not winning the trophy for over six years now we still manage to be in the top 4 positions on offer for a European berth consistently.
I have had my share of history with Man U fans who are like a serious bunch of Statisticians who have nothing but Numbers to give for now, forgetting what Liverpool and Kenny Dalglish had done to them way back asking them to came back when they have 18. Now Man U knocking on the 19th one this time and boast of being the best. But then who would remind them that it wasnt them who knocked Liverpool off their Fucking Perch but it was us on 26th May 1989 having to beat the best ever liverpool team 2-0. That was when Liverpool were knocked off and not now with Liverpool not in the best of forms. So you never know who suddenly has the title drought all off a sudden, its simple what goes around has to come around and i am damn sure that with the squad that we possess we gonna win many many Titles n Championships. We were the only team in Europe who have looked like beating Barcelona FC at their own game with all other teams struggling to cope up with the Catalans mesmerizing football. ( Waiting for the Finals where Man U is gonna be Ripped apart again by Barcelona FC signalling their downfall )
We have won 10 titles and that aint a bad number for an awesome club with only emerging supa stars. My Favorite players to have donned the Arsenal Colors are Henry, Pires, Overmars, Bergkamp, Adams, Keown, Petit, Van Persie, Fabregas, David Seaman, Viera and so on.
I miss Highbury and I miss Henry and Pires the most of all the Players who have played the game the Gunner way.
Its just Arsenal FC all the way ever since I have known football and played the beautiful game. A team that is still growing and gaining experience and Fans that are unparalleled with any other club, filling in the stadium despite going on a drought for 6 years.
We Gunner’s will come all guns blazing in the years to come and bring home the trophies.
With all this it’s forever only Arsenal FC
